Ahmed M. Safa

Dr. Safa is a board-certified Hematologist and Medical Oncologist dedicated to delivering compassionate, comprehensive, and evidence-based care to patients facing complex blood disorders and cancer diagnoses. He comes to New England Cancer Specialists from Beth Israel Lahey Health in Beverly, Massachusetts, and will be seeing patients in both our Portsmouth, NH and Kennebunk, ME offices.

Dr. Safa considers medicine both a calling and a lifelong journey of growth. Driven by the rapidly advancing field of oncology and inspired by the meaningful connections he forms with his patients, he remains committed to continuous learning and excellence in care. He believes that outstanding medical practice extends beyond treating disease—it involves understanding each patient’s goals, values, and life circumstances.

Dr. Safa maintains active membership in leading professional organizations, including the American College of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the European Society for Medical Oncology, reflecting his commitment to staying at the forefront of advances in hematology and oncology.

In his spare time, Dr. Safa enjoys reading, staying active, spending time outdoors and going on adventures with his wife and two boys.
