Laurel Costello

Laurel is a licensed and registered dietitian specializing in oncology nutrition, committed to supporting individuals throughout the continuum of cancer care – from diagnosis through treatment and into survivorship. She holds a Master’s in Nutrition from the University of Maine and has a strong foundation in clinical nutrition, applying a compassionate, evidence-based approach to patient care.

Working closely with patients, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams, Laurel helps optimize nutrition during chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, and recovery. Her clinical focus includes managing treatment-related side effects, mitigating the risk of malnutrition, and preserving strength and function through individualized nutrition interventions tailored to each patient’s diagnosis, treatment plan, and goals. Passionate about empowering and motivating patients, Laurel believes that good nutrition is a powerful tool for enhancing well-being and quality of life. She offers targeted nutrition counseling to help patients navigate the complex demands of cancer treatment and recovery, supporting healing, resilience, and sustainable health outcomes.

Outside of work, you can still find Laurel surrounded by food either in the garden or cooking in her kitchen. She loves being outside on the water with her husband, son, and dog Casco.
